PLACE OF CHANGING WINDS
TRADITION PINOT NOIR/SYRAH 2019

"It’s a beautiful piece of craft. Beautiful fruit, beautiful savoury nuances, finessed tannin, convincing in every way. Black cherries, juicy plums, cloves, peppers and smoked herbs. The flavours hit and then spread. The tannin eggs the spread of flavour on. The finish leaves you satisfied and wanting more as if it’s one and the same. It takes a little while to open up, as most of the best wines do; quality loves air. Or wind, in this case. This is a garden of a wine, fertile, growing, friendly, generous. It makes good company."

“Sweet, ripe and enticing on the nose with some jammy blackberries and notes of pepper and dried herbs. The palate is ripe but lively with a smooth black cherry mid-palate book-ended by some liqueur-like richness and some lively, peppery spiciness. There’s some structure here, and a long, expanding finish with some juicy green notes, and a bit of prickly spiciness. So distinctive, and quite compelling.”

This is a medium-bodied blend of pinot and syrah from adjacent regions that has a very spicy array of blueberry, cherry and blackberry aromas and flavors. The palate has attractively fresh cherries and plums. Finishes succulent and even. Drink or hold.
